We will discover the traces of the past and for this, we will head north of Puerto Natales. Almost 25 km away, we will begin a day of exploration walking through the Archaeological Park located inside the Estancia Ernesto Helmer.
The tour offers views of imposing mountains, crevices, overhangs and valleys. In this place, it is possible to access the condor roosts and once we reach the top we will have a spectacular panoramic view of the Eberhard Fjord, Señoret Channel and the iconic Soï¬a Lagoon.
Cerro Benitez is part of an archeological and paleontological sector that houses rock paintings approximately 3,500 years old. We will visit the window cave and then through the southeast side we will head to the hidden cave, a place where we will enter with headlamps and on tip and toe. This cave has a height of approximately 4 meters and its size is approximately 70 square meters. Here we can observe millenary stalactites that were formed because of the accumulation of salts and minerals due to the constant ï¬ltration and dripping water for thousands of years.
Once this adventure is over, we will leave the cave and head towards a set of overhangs called "Dos Herraduras". On this trek, we will walk through lush forests to ï¬nally observe the rock paintings on the walls of this rocky structure that was once a seabed
